Difference between NPN and PNP transistors

NPN Transistors

A transistor with one p- type semiconductor that is doped from both sides by two n-type semiconductors is called NPN transistors. In NPN transistors current flows current flows from collector terminal to emitter terminal. Electrons are the majority charge carriers in NPN transistors. It amplifies the weak signal enter in base and produce strong amplify signal at collector end. NPN transistor has three terminals emitter, collector and base.

PNP Transistors

A transistor with one n-type semiconductor that is doped from both sides by two p-type semiconductors is called PNP transistors. In PNP transistors current flows from emitter terminal to collector terminal .In PNP transistors the holes are the majority charge carriers.
